 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American comedian, actor, and activist. She was born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents and started her acting career when she was a young girl, shortly after moving to the United States. In AT&T commercials on television she played the role of Lily Adams (saleswoman) from 2013 to 2016 and then in the year 2020. Commercial appearances weren't the only thing she did. She was also a part of the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She was also an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). After being featured in the TV pilot unaired for New Warriors, Vayntrub also is the voice of Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rising. Vayntrub was Jewish and was born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. Her parents, who were at the age of two, came to America to escape antisemitism. They moved to West Hollywood. The financial struggles of her family resulted in her appearing in Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of five. Vayntrub was a student at Beverly Hills High School briefly however she quit after her second year. She later obtained an GED and earned an Associate of Arts degree in Communication at the University of California, San Diego. She studied improv comedy with the Upright Citizens Brigade.
